Door Shop Manager Needed for National Building Products Supplier
[ON HOLD] Schaffer Associates is recruiting for a Door Shop Manager for a national building materials supplier. Based in Concord, NC, the Door Shop Manager’s primary duty is the management of the total operations of the door shop, including profit and loss. In this role, the Door Shop Manager serves as the primary teacher, mentor, and sales leader in the door shop. This position customarily and regularly directs the work of associates working at the store and, therefore, the individual in this position must possess the ability to effectively and fairly communicate with all associates ensuring that standards are kept and that goals are attained. This position is also responsible for assessing employees’
productivity and efficiency, apportioning the work among the employees, handling employee complaints and grievances, disciplining employees, planning the work at the shop, assessing and tracking the profitability of the door shop, including sales, margin, payroll expense, and delivery, achieving the sales and margin goals as outlined, visiting customers, participating in sales calls, teaching and mentoring in- store associates how to sell, and for the maintenance of the location and for preserving company assets and providing for the safety and security of the employees or the property.
Door Shop Managers are responsible for scheduling and directing door shop employees, reviewing, and teaching all safety procedures, managing inventory control, both invoicing and receiving, assisting and teaching employees how to build interior and exterior doors by hand, and using the machinery in the local shop, and maintaining quality control of product produced at the door shop.

Job Requirements
- Drives sales and attains new business for the door shop
- Hires and trains new associates on company standards
- Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- Conducts performance evaluations for associates
- Regularly assigns duties to and directs the work of associates to ensure successful completion of daily door shop operations
Supervisory Responsibility This job involves the supervision, direction, and training of all door shop location associates
Work Environment This position can involve working outdoors or being exposed to wet, humid, extremely hot, or extremely cold conditions. It may require working in a highly precarious place and near- moving mechanical parts. There may be a risk of electrical shock. The position may be exposed to vibrations, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
Physical Demands This position involves constantly being on one’s feet, interacting with customers, and occasionally lifting objects up to 80 pounds
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on hours of operations, 48+ hours per week.
Travel Limited travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; at least 3- 5 years of experience in a store.
