Branch Manager Needed for Regional Industrial & Construction Supplier

[POSITION FILLED] March 18, 2022 – Schaffer Associates is recruiting for a Branch Manager for a regional construction supplier for both industrial and contractor customers. Our Client focuses on supporting its customers’ needs by providing top resources, leading products, and experienced staff. Based in Columbia, SC, the Branch Manager will be responsible for directing all inside sales, operations, and resource activities for the location, servicing MRO industrial, safety and steel products.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to all branch employees.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals reviews.
  • Provide leadership to profitably serve customers.
  • Understand the market served including customers, suppliers, and competitors.
  • Understand the basic responsibilities of each employee within the branch.
  • Plan and direct all warehouse activities including receiving, put away, picking, packing, delivery and any value -add activities of the branch.
  • Maintain inventory integrity to meet or exceed cycle counting goals.
  • Meet or exceed sales, margin, and income goals.
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure the Company’s ongoing success.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Requires a working knowledge of the industrial supply business.
  • Knowledgeable of branch operations within a wholesale distributor.
  • Ability to manage a branch operation’s P&L.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales and operations strategies to achieve sales, margin, and income goals.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well versed in problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and peers.
  • Budget development and cost management abilities.
  • Professional appearance and manner.
  • Able to provide coaching and leadership to employees to provide a highly performing and productive workforce.

  • Webinars and hands-on workshops via Company, vendor, and ERP programs.
